I'm getting a STOP 0x00...error Blue Screen of Death in my Windows XP computer. How can I fix/repair or troubleshoot this blue screen?

But you might be thinking why the hell your computer/laptop screen has frozen with the blue screen displaying STOP followed by a series of zeroes and upper cased ERROR message. Blue screen IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

This error message is issued if paged memory (or invalid memory) is accessed when the IRQL is too high. The error that generates this bug check usually occurs after the installation of a faulty device driver, system service, or BIOS.

To resolve an error: Restart your computer, press F8 at the character-mode menu that displays the operating system choices. At the resulting Windows Advanced Options menu, choose the Last Known Good Configuration option.

This behavior can occur if you downloaded the Backdoor.NTHack virus from a remote host into your computer. This virus is initiated by the Dl.bat file in the InetPubScripts folder.

This error often results from a boot device failure. During I/O system initialization, the boot device driver might have failed to initialize the boot device (typically a hard disk). File system initialization might have failed because it did not recognize the data on the boot device. Also, repartitioning the system partition or installing a new SCSI adapter or disk controller might induce this error. This error can also result from incompatible disk hardware.

Blue screen: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

This stop message indicates that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file could not be read into memory. This Stop message is usually caused by a bad block (sector) in a paging file, a virus, a disk controller error, or failing RAM. In rare cases, it is caused when nonpaged pool resources run out. It is also caused by defective hardware.

Blue screen: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

occurs when requested data is not found in memory. The system generates a fault, which normally indicates that the system looks for data in the paging file. In this circumstance, however, the missing data is identified as being located within an area of memory that cannot be paged out to disk. The system faults, but cannot find, the data and is unable to recover.

Blue screen: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

The file system is damaged and cannot be mounted.

Blue screen: SESSION_HAS_VALID_POOL_ON_EXIT

This error is caused by a session driver not freeing its pool allocations prior to a session unload. This indicates a bug in win32k.sys, atmfd.dll, rdpdd.dll, or a video driver.

STOP error 0x27 RDR_FILE_SYSTEM

One possible cause of this bug check is depletion of nonpaged pool memory. If the nonpaged pool memory is completely depleted, this error can stop the system. However, during the indexing process, if the amount of available nonpaged pool memory is very low, another kernel-mode driver requiring nonpaged pool memory can also trigger this error.

Blue screen: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Indicates that a kernel-mode process or driver attempted to access a memory address to which it did not have permission to access. The most common cause of this error is an incorrect or corrupted pointer that references an incorrect location in memory.

Blue screen: DATA_BUS_ERROR

STOP 0x0000002E

This stop message indicates that a parity error has been detected in system memory. This error is almost always caused by a hardware problem, so may not be fixed using Reimage repair - but may be caused by a faulty device driver attempting to access an address or a virus infected the Master Boot Record (MBR) - Reimage can solve that!

Blue screen: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM

A problem occurred within NTFS.SYS, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. There may be a physical problem with the disk, or an Interrupt Request Packet (IRP) may be corrupted. Other common causes include heavy hard drive fragmentation, heavy file I/O, problems with some types of drive-mirroring software, or some antivirus software.

Reimage PC Repair Review

XP Pro recognizes my host adapter but, not the drives?

I recently had to re-format my hard drives(running a hardware-based RAID).

I have tried several times, to install XP Pro. In order to do this, I have to press F6 so it can recognize my SCSI driver on the floppy disk. It finds the driver but, it doesn't see past the host adapter.

The SCSI BIOS has no problem seeing, and working with, the drives. But, Even after XP Pro acknowledges the existence of the SCSI driver during an attempted installation, it still can't find the drives.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure this seems too simple, but make sure that your SCSI drives are properly terminated. Additionally, make sure you're using the most up to date driver. If you still have trouble, try disconnecting all but one of the drives (so there is no RAID) and see if you still have the same problem. On that note, ensure that you don't need both a SCSI driver and a RAID driver, as was the case with Interix systems.
